Walt Bodine 

 

I'm fortunate to have spent over 60 years working in television and radio broadcasting, and I'm still going, weekday mornings at NPR affiliate KCUR in Kansas City, 89.3 FM. I've spent time as a reporter, anchor man, news director, columnist, talk show host, and even, briefly, as an advertising executive. I've also done my share of writing for various publications, and a little free lance. 

 

Perhaps the best part of this journey has been my good fortune to have spent almost all of it working in Kansas City. I've met the famous and the infamous, and far more everyday folks, all who have a story to tell, or something to share.

I was married to the late Bernie Bodine, who gave me five great children, and devoted her life to making KC a better place for disabled children. I'm also lucky to have four grandchildren and three great-grandkids! And of course I couldn't write this without mentioning the great audiences who have made all this possible for me.
